The chains of routine

Free from chains

If you really think about it, you will see that your life is actually  borrowed because you are not promised tomorrow, so my question for you is simple: do you really want to borrow something and end up  returning it without getting the most out of it ?

The answer to that can’t be simpler than a NO.

So how to leave everything behind and get rid of anything preventing you from living the life you want ?

— What I personally do is kind of tricking myself into taking action before I have the time to think about consequences,  an example would be to book a non refundable flight, or buy a backpack or luggage, now obviously, you don’t have to be a fool with this, but you get the point.

—  Setting priorities  can go a long way into getting your goals accomplished too,  my priority today would be travel, this way,  every decision I make has to benefit my travel plans.

— I am sure everybody have heard at some point of their lives this saying: “things you own end up owning you”,                                                        In  “up in the air” George Clooney  as Ryan explains how you cannot move with a backpack if you fill it with all your possessions, home, car…

—  What I see happening to most people around me is that they get stuck in a routine, because they feel safe and comfortable, I say  don’t walk within the lines, because a normal life is boring.

-When I ask people what’s stopping them from travelling a common response is : I gotta get my life together before i do that, people often frame it as an ending result dream, instead of letting it be a way to figure out what they’re really passionate about in life .

– Finally I suggest taking risks to remove that fear of tomorrow, because only your personal experience can let you truly learn anything.

Stay safe.

To the backpacker lifestyle

free backpacker

I am currently 21 years old, and I am grateful that I started my path towards freedom at a young age ,

Here is how it first started for me during my first 2 week trip I’ve met a backpacker at my skydiving experience , we talked for a bit, I still appreciate him sharing with me his whole story,

it really inspired me into thinking about his lifestyle and how amazing it is, He had an income of barely over a 1000$, It really blew my mind at that time,

Not being exactly in his situation of owning 2 or 3 appartments, this made me think about my own possibilities to get a similar income. sooner than later I stumbledupon this website http://www.nomadicmatt.com/, after reading the first post I knew I can do this.

I encourage anyone who loves to travel but still think of it as a dream to really consider choosing a backpacker as a lifestyle.

stay safe.

Yassine,

We are consumer…

We are consumers. We’re the bi-products of a lifestyle obsession.God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off

my road to world tour

After working in an office for the past year, I took the  standard north american 2 week vacation, I had no idea how it would change my way of thinking about the whole work/vacation system, in two weeks I went to los angles, vegas, san fransisco, and miami, of course  I coudn’t fully enjoy each city, so when I got back to my hometown Montreal, I instantly knew this is not the lifestyle I want,  it was like a missing piece I had to experience for myself, a few weeks later, I stumbled upon a guy named Matthew Kepnes and his website http://www.nomadicmatt.com/, this guy really inspired me, he changed my whole mindset about travelling, from expensive and almost impossible, to holy crap I can do this, leave home, and travel the world.

I am currently still working at the same job, as I am planning for my trip to …everywhere

what I would like to end this post with is that if you can change your attitude then bingo everything else will fall into place.
